Curriculum
At St Michael’s we have developed our creative curriculum to ensure that as a school we bring learning to life and make it fun and interesting to learn. We have large focus on developing basic skills in language and communication, writing, reading and maths. We also have a creative topic approach for the other foundation subjects. These topics usually cover a whole term. Our history and geography teaching is interwoven through each topic, along with music, DT, Computing, art and drama. We provide opportunities for children to write and apply maths skills in a different context. Science is taught separately and the science focus changes each half term. We follow the Church of England RE curriculum which has a large emphasis on Christianity.
Please see subject headings for the whole school curriculum overviews and unit plans within seperate year groups.
